PDF10x Privacy Policy

Last updated October 17, 2026

In short: your files never leave your phone. Every tool in the app runs on your device, and we never receive, upload, store or see your documents. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. It uses the internet only to check for updates and to send feedback or crash reports when you choose to.

PDF10x for Android (package com.gauravkr.pdf10x, "the app"), the companion app to pdf10x.com, is published by NowStacks (nowstacks.com; "we", "us") and developed for us by our development partner, Gemini Digital Solutions. The pdf10x.com website has its own privacy policy.

1. Your documents

When you pick a PDF or image, Android gives the app temporary access to that file only. The app copies it into its private cache, processes it on your device (merge, split, compress, convert, sign, protect and so on) and writes the result to the app's private storage. If you choose, a copy is also saved to your Downloads/PDF10x folder, or to any location you select.

Temporary copies are deleted automatically when the app restarts. You can delete finished files at any time from My files, or all at once in Settings → Clear My files. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored privately. Your documents, file names and their contents are never sent over the internet — not to us and not to anyone else.

2. Information we collect

The app has no analytics and collects no usage data. We receive information only in the situations described in section 3 — an automatic update check, and feedback or crash reports that you choose to send (an email address is included only if you type one) — and never any document or file.

The app stores a few settings on your device only: your theme, language, whether to save results to Downloads, the tools you used recently and your crash-report preference. Android may include these settings in your personal device backup if backup is on; documents are never included in backups.

3. Update checks, feedback and crash reports

The app connects to nowstacks.com, our own server, only for these features:

  • Update check — when you open the app, it asks nowstacks.com whether a newer version is available, so it can tell you when an update is recommended or required. The request contains only the app's package name and version and, like any internet request, your IP address.
  • Feedback and ratings — only if you choose to send feedback (Rate & feedback or Report a problem). We receive your star rating, your message and, only if you type it, your email address, together with the app version, Android version, device model and language.
  • Crash reports — if the app closes unexpectedly, it asks you before sending a crash report, unless you chose to send them automatically (you can change this choice in the app's settings). A report contains the technical error details, the app version, Android version, device model, language and any comment you add. It does not include your documents, files, photos, game data or other personal content — although, rarely, a technical error message can quote a small piece of the data the app was handling when the error happened.

We use this information only to reply to you, fix problems and improve the app. It is stored securely on nowstacks.com's infrastructure (our database and hosting providers process it on our behalf), is never sold, and is never shared with advertisers or other third parties. A one-way hashed (non-reversible) form of your IP address is stored with feedback and crash reports only to prevent spam. We delete feedback and crash reports when they are no longer needed, and you can ask us to delete anything you sent at any time (see "Contact").

4. Passwords and signatures

Passwords you type to open, protect or unlock a PDF are used only in memory for that task and are never saved or sent anywhere. Crash reports have file names and file locations removed before they are sent. Signatures you draw are saved as a temporary image in the app's private cache so they can be placed on the page, and are deleted with other temporary files.

5. Permissions

Access Why
Internet Only for update checks, and for feedback and crash reports you choose to send (section 3). Your documents are never sent.
Files you pick (system file picker / photo picker) To read the documents and images you choose. The app cannot see any other files.
Camera (through your camera app) Only for Scan to PDF, when you tap "Take photo". The app itself does not hold the camera permission.
Downloads folder To save a copy of results when "Save results to Downloads" is on. No permission is needed on Android 10 and later.

6. Links to our website

Some features (such as OCR, Edit PDF and Remove watermark) and links (help, blog) open pdf10x.com in your web browser, and the terms link opens nowstacks.com. What happens there is covered by those websites' privacy policies. The app never passes your documents to any website.

7. Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade or share your data. When you tap Share, the file goes only to the app you choose, under that app's own privacy policy.

8. Children

The app is a general productivity tool and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; the only information the app sends us is described in section 3.

9. Your rights

All your documents stay on your device and under your control. To access or delete feedback or crash reports you sent us, or for any question under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, DPDP or any other privacy law, contact us.

10. Security

Files stay in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Protect PDF uses AES-256 encryption. Sharing to other apps uses temporary, file-specific access that Android revokes automatically. Connections to nowstacks.com are encrypted (HTTPS).

11. Changes

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date.
